 The Creole Nature Trail All-American Road is a journey through a wild and rugged terrain unique to Louisiana, America and the world.  Once the domain of nomadic Indians, the legendary pirate Jean Lafitte, Civil War soldiers and a host of colorful characters who came to find their fortunes in a fertile land, rich in untapped natural resources and boundless opportunity. 

Recreational Licenses:

• A basic and saltwater recreational fishing license or a Wild Louisiana Stamp is needed to crab on wildlife management areas or refuges.
• A basic and saltwater recreational fishing license is needed to crab with nets and traps.
• If you are not on a wildlife management area or refuge you may crab with a line or string without a license.

 Created in 1988, Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge was established to preserve and protect wintering waterfowl and their habitat. It was the first refuge established under the auspices of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan. Located at the convergence of two major flyways, the refuge has an important role in management for migratory birds. Consisting of fresh marsh, coastal prairie, and old rice fields, Cameron Prairie NWR is located at the convergence of two major flyways. The refuge has an important role in management for migratory birds including many species of ducks, geese, and other waterfowl and migratory birds. 

 Holly Beach is nicknamed "The Cajun Riviera." This rustic beach is located along the Gulf of Mexico and is one of six beaches on the west side of the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. The beach is perfect for fishing, viewing of shells, and bird-watching with friends and family.
